Provider bias is not a new problem, but it is a problem that requires new approaches, writes Lydia Murithi. Beyond Bias takes a new, interdisciplinary approach to addressing this longstanding human condition by developing, testing, and refining new, innovative, scalable solutions that address provider bias.
Urgent action is needed to address the growing epidemic of HIV among adolescents. We’re using Global Burden of Disease and UN study data to map the extent of the global adolescent HIV epidemic to target action for youth.
Our Beyond Bias project is working in communities in Burkina Faso, Pakistan, and Tanzania to examine provider bias and to design new approaches that will mitigate these biases and lead to better provider-client interactions for young people.
