YLabs are seeking a part-time Program Coordinator to support effective operations and project coordination. You’ll be working in a vibrant, multi-disciplinary team that combines expertise in health, economics, and design. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for working in service towards empowering young people, as well as optimism, collaboration and a can-do attitude to jump in and help where needed across the organization. You’d join our growing Operations Team and report to the Operations Manager to ensure effective planning and coordination of programs and operations.

You will be responsible for:

  • Administrative support to projects, including bookkeeping, organizing travel, procurement of supplies, and tracking expenses;

  • Support the planning of internal meetings, events and team-building activities to support team growth and wellness;

  • Manage social media communications, along with project teams;

  • Work with operations team to coordinate project reporting;

  • General office management to support a creative, vibrant and supportive working environment;

  • Create and maintain internal systems to collaborate and share knowledge;

  • Maintain a calendar of upcoming proposals;

  • Tracking key contacts and building out our client management database.

You are:

  • A self-starter - able to operate autonomously, while also having the judgment to seek guidance as appropriate and gracefully accept and apply constructive feedback;

  • Highly organized, proactive and flexible. Able to prioritize like a pro;

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree or in the process of completing your Bachelor’s; ideally with 2+ years of professional experience;

  • Proficiency in MS Office, G Suite, KeyNote. Experience with QuickBooks would be a bonus, but training will be provided;

  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills;

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities;

  • A can-do positive attitude;

  • Excellent written and oral communication.


  • Experience working in non-profit;

  • Project or program coordination experience;

  • Previous experience working on health, education or employment programs;

  • Second language: French, Swahili, Urdu.


This role is based in Berkeley, California and will be 3 days per week with the possibility of turning into a full-time role. Applicants must be legally able to work and live in the US. Please note that we cannot sponsor visa applications for this role.
